Lahore-PTI’s central Punjab president Shafqat Mahmood has resigned from the party office citing health reasons.
Shafqat told the media on Friday that he could not continue with the present assignment due to bad health. Party sources, however, said that he was asked to step down by the party chairman due to poor performance of the party’s central Punjab chapter during the May 25 long march to Is-lamabad. Shafqat said he had sent his resignation to the party chairman Imran Khan.
