Tennis top seed Swiatek wins 2022 French Open in women's singles

World no. 1 in tennis Iga Swiatek won the 2022 French Open (Roland Garros) title in women's singles on Saturday, her second Grand Slam title.

Polish player Swiatek, 21, beat her US opponent Coco Gauff with the sets of 6-1, 6-3 in the final at Court Philippe-Chatrier to be crowned the champion in Paris once again.

The Swiatek vs. Gauff final lasted for an hour and eight minutes.

In addition, Swiatek earned her 35th consecutive win.

Meanwhile, it was Gauff's first Grand Slam final.

The 18-year-old was handed a silver plate for completing this tournament in second place.

The 2022 champion, Swiatek returned home with the French Open trophy.

Swiatek previously won the 2020 French Open.

Separately in the title ceremony, Bayern Munich's Polish star Robert Lewandowski congratulated his compatriot Swiatek on her success.

The 2022 French Open will end after Sunday's men's singles final between Spanish star Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud from Norway.
