No PTI MNA verifies resignation before NA speaker on second day

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) MNAs Tuesday, on the second consecutive day of the verification, did not appear before Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf individually for verification of their resignations.

The NA Speaker had summoned the 131 PTI MNAs for verification of their resignations in his chamber.

The verification process will continue till June 10. The speaker had given five minutes to each MNA to verify his submitted resignations. The PTI MNAs, on the first day of the verification, didn’t turn up before the Speaker National Assembly.

30 PTI MNAs had to verify their resignation each day before National Assembly Speaker till June 10

According to the schedule, the National Assembly Speaker had summoned 30 PTI MNAs each day till June 10 for verification of their resignations. Former Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry the other day (Monday) made it clear that the PTI members would not appear before the Speaker National Assembly for verification of their resignations.

Sources said that despite suggestions of some senior members to rejoin the Parliament the PTI chief Imran Khan was adamant to do politics outside the Parliament. The opposition party may also approach the Supreme Court against decision of the speaker to summon PTI lawmakers individually for verification of their resignations. According to National Assembly Secretariat, the speaker will continue the verification process till June 10.
