Four car-riders killed in gun attack near Kala Shah Kaku

SHEIKHUPURA/LAHORE – Unidentified gunmen opened fire on a moving car and killed four people near Kala Shah Kaku GT Road on Wednesday, police and rescue workers said. A passerby woman also sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.

According to Rescue 1122, the victims were traveling to Gujranwala from Lahore in a car when unidentified armed men riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire, killing all of them on the spot.

Rescue 1122 and police teams reached the spot soon after the shooting. The bodies were handed over to police. Meanwhile DPO Sheikhupura Faisal Mukhtar Sheikh reached the spot and constituted teams to arrest the culprits.

Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has sought a report from the police chief about the incident of firing near Kala Shah Kaku and ordered the police to immediately arrest of the killers. He also said that the best medical facilities be provided to the injured woman.

Inspector General of Police Rao Sardar Ali Khan also took notice of the killings and ordered the district police officer to submit a report at the earliest.  The IGP directed the senior police officers to reach the incident site immediately and said that special teams should be formed to arrest the culprits.
