Attock police arrest 10 anti-social elements

ATTOCK - Police have arrested 10 anti-social elements including drug peddlers and gamblers from different locations. Cases under the acts have been registered against them and all have been sent behind the bars. Police arrested three drug peddlers including Aman Ullah, Ehsan Ullah and Ghulam Sadiq from the jurisdiction of Attock Khurd, Injra and Attock city police stations and recovered 2.16 kg hashish from their possession. In two other attempts, police arrested two accused Waqar and Daud both r/o Kohat from the jurisdiction of Jand police station for allegedly having two unlicensed pistols. From the same area, police arrested five gamblers namely Muhammad Khan, Feroz, Akhtar, Azmat and Nayyar and recovered Rs 33,870 bet money from them while their two accomplices Nazir Hussain and Abdul Qayyum escaped. On the other hand, bike theft cases are on the rise in the Attock city area. Mumraiz Khan told Attock city police that he parked his bike in front of Sessions Court and when came back after half an hour his bike was missing. Aftab Hussain a teacher by profession told police that he parked his bike in front of District Council building and properly locked it and when came back after some time his bike was missing.
The rise in theft of bike cases has created a sense of insecurity among the masses. People alleged that police were not taking these cases seriously. PRO Attock Police Tahir Iqbal when contacted for his comments said that police are investigating bike theft cases and are on the hunt to arrest the culprits.
