LAHORE - Calling Punjab Chief Minister an obstinate child, Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz has said that wheat crisis are being created in the province under a conspiracy with the involvement of Punjab government. Addressing a news conference in Punjab Assembly cafeteria on Wednesday, he alleged that bardana (gunny bags) was being distributed among selected farmers through PML-N MPAs and party office-bearers. PPPs Parliamentary Leader Maj (R) Zulfiqar Gondal, MPA Azma Zahid Bukhari and Zekria Butt accompanied him. Raja said PPP-led government had fixed wheats support price at Rs 950 per 40 kg, but Punjab government had reduced its wheat procurement target by twenty thousand tones compared to previous year. He suspected that Punjab government had done so apparently to harm federal governments popularity. He further alleged that discrimination in distribution of bardana was also part of this conspiracy. Raja said Opposition will also raise this issue during upcoming session of the Assembly. He appealed to PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif to remove a misfit person (Shahbaz Sharif) from Punjab who, according to him, was responsible for financial and administrative indiscipline in the Punjab. Raja asked elder Sharif to keep Shahbaz Sharif at Jedda or London and some suitable person should take the charge. He said CM was fond of travelling in Chinese buses and tube trains, but had no love lost for the poor passengers languishing in ham shackled buses plying in various cities of Punjab. Criticising Punjab government for signing agreements with China, he said they were signed between states and not between a country and a province.
