CPPA seeks power tariff raise

The Central Power Purchase Agency (CCPA) demanded a Rs 1.50 increase per unit in power tariff on Thursday. According to a private TV, the CPPA sought the permission of National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) through an application to increase the tariffs of all power distribution companies by Rs 1.50. The CPPA demanded the increase due to the hike in the price of furnace oil. The application sought an increase from the month of March and the proposed raise would directly affect the consumers.
