LAHORE- Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has assured that Higher Education Commission will continue because the 18th amendment does not absolve federal government of its responsibility to promote higher education in the country. Speaking at the 3rd convocation of UVAS at its Ravi Campus, Pattoki on Wednesday, he urged the prime minister and political leadership to ensure maximum funds for higher education commission. As a representative of federal government in Punjab, I could act as a bridge between federal government and universities to solve their problems especially those related to funds, he observed, assuring that he would take up issues of universities and students with the federal government. He urged universities to promote research work for countrys development. He asked Pakistani scientists to introduce gene transfer technology expertise especially in livestock sector and agriculture to enhance the production potential. He said universities were the most powerful tool to steer the development in the country.
