LAHORE The PML (Functional) on Wednesday called for unity among all factions of the PML in the best interest of the country. The partys senior vice-president Khan Sultan Mahmoud Khan said while speaking at Aiwan-i-Waqt that strength of the country was linked to the strength of the PML. He said Pir Pagara and Nawa-i-Waqts Editor-in-Chief Majid Nizami had repeatedly underlined the need for unity among the PML factions, and leaders of all groups should heed to these calls. Those who played a positive role for the purpose would be remembered by posterity, he said. He urged Majid Nizami not to leave the task halfway and continue to work till it was accomplished. The PML (F) leader was appreciative of the efforts made by Nawaz Sharif in giving a new life to the PML. He said the PML-N chief should also play his due role in uniting the PML factions. Sultan Mahmoud Khan said Pir Pagara had made it clear that in case of unification of all factions he would not be a candidate for any office. Similarly, he said, the Pir had also said he was willing to go to Mian Nawaz Sharif for the sake of unity.
