Protest for regular service structure


LAHORE – Hundreds of Lady Health Supervisors held a demonstration outside the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Friday to press for the demands of regular service structure, stipend for participation in dengue and polio campaigns and removal of Dr Akhtar Rasheed from the post of provincial coordinator National Programme for Family Planning.  The LHSs continued demonstration for over six hours, causing traffic chaos on all nearby arteries till afternoon.
After successful negotiation with Additional Secretary CM Secretariat Abdul Qayyum, LHSs called off protest in the afternoon. Committee headed by Special Assistant to CM for Health Kh Salman Rafiq will consider demands of LHSs and submit recommendations within one month.
