KARACHI - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf gears up for the electoral campaign in Karachi and vows to give tough time to the major stakeholders of the City.

The PTI is contesting election from 17 out of 20 seats of National Assembly of Karachi. It directed the party workers and leaders to kick off the election campaign and convince people to vote for the party candidates in upcoming general elections.

It is worth mentioning here that PTI election campaign have yet to be seen in the City and they were not even organised any public gathering here.

Media Coordinator Jamal Siddiqui said that the party was ready to contest the upcoming elections and confident to win major seats of Karachi.

Talking to The Nation, he claimed that the MQM would lose its mandate in case of free and fair elections in Karachi. He said party offices had been open in various constituencies of the City and the workers were busy in election campaign.

He informed that PTI is confident to win NA-239, NA-256, NA-250 and provincial constituencies those lies under the said National Assembly constituencies.

Talking about the Taliban threats, he said that party had not threatened by the TTP and they were freely running their election campaign in various areas.

Opponents have attacked our election offices in different constituencies, adding PTI candidates and workers are not afraid of these cowardly attacks.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced the names of its national and provincial assemblies candidates to contest forthcoming elections from Karachi.

Names of the candidates for National Assembly include Subhan Ali Sahil from NA-239, Naz Baloch from NA-240, Dr Saeed Afridi from NA-241, Zahid Hashmi from NA-243, Khalid Masood from NA-244, Riaz Haider from NA-245, Amir Sharjeel from NA-246, Rashid Siddiqui from NA-247, Subhan Ali Sahil from NA-248, Dr Arif Alvi from NA-250, Raja Azhar from NA-251, Syed Ali Zaidi from NA-252, Ashraf Qureshi from NA-253, Naeem Sheikh from NA-254, Khalid Mehmood from NA-255, Zubair Khan from NA-256, Dr Farooq Bangash from NA-257 and Qurban Broro got party ticket from NA-258.
