islamabad - The contingents of Islamabad police and Pakistan Rangers yesterday conducted a grand search operation in various areas of the city and nabbed 26 suspects including six Afghan nationals, a police spokesman said yesterday.
He said that officials of Islamabad police, Pakistan Rangers and other law-enforcement agencies searched more than 400 houses in the areas of Sarai Kharbooza, Dhoke Abbassi, Dhoke Paracha and other areas adjacent to the localities. The search operation was participated by SP (Saddar) Bilal Zafar, SDPO Saddar Zone and SHOs of police stations falling in the jurisdiction of Saddar Zone. The police team nabbed 26 suspects including six Afghan nationals, besides recovering two 30-bore pistols, two 9-MM pistols, one repeater gun, one 12-bore gun, one 8-MM rifle and 146 rounds of weapons of various bores. SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said the purpose of his search operation and high vigilance was to ensure foolproof security in the city. He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
