KARACHI: Anti-polio drive today continued in the mega city, a day after seven policemen were shot dead in Orangi Town in separate attacks. Addition police contingent has been deployed for guarding the polio workers.

The female polio workers said that they are not afraid and with new determination they will continue anti polio drive to eliminate polio virus from the country for saving our children.     

Law enforcement agencies (LEA) have vowed to ensure protection of polio workers against miscreants. The martyred personnel were tasked with security of polio workers.

Eight terrorists, riding four motorcycles had attacked police in Orangi Bangla Bazaar killing three personnel and gunned down four others as they came across a police mobile minutes after.

Home Minister confirmed that all polio workers remained unharmed in the attacks.

Rangers Sindh Director General (DG) Major General Bilal Akbar asserted that all polio workers in the city would be provided adequate security, while the attackers would be caught soon.
