LHC moved against delay in arrest of killers

rawalpindi - An old man has approached Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench against Saddar Bairooni police yesterday for not arresting the killers of his daughter-in-law and his grandson.
Muhammad Rasheed filed the petition through Advocate Raja Rizwan Abbasi urging the court to direct police to arrest four nominated men who roam around freely and are harassing his family. The Rawalpindi bench of the LHC is likely to take up the petition during the next week.
Citing city police officer Rawalpindi, station house officer Saddar Bairooni and Sub-Inspector Mirza Arif, the investigation officer as respondents, Rasheed said that an additional session judge and the LHC had rejected the pre-arrest bail pleas of accused Mudassir, Yasir, Daud, and Qasim but the police had failed to arrest them.
The petitioner told the LHC that the four accused managed to escape from the courtroom after their bail pleas were rejected by the sessions and high courts.
Rashid alleged that four accused killed Rabia Zaheer and her son Umair Zaheer on November 20, 2015 and shot dead both the mother and the son.
The petitioner further told the court that the accused killed Rabia and her son because Rabia and her husband Zaheer Ahmed were nominated in the murder case of Manzoor Hussain. He said that Manzoor Hussain was close relative of the accused. He said that the court of law acquitted his son Zaheer Ahmed and daughter-in-law Rabia of the murder charges. He prayed to the LHC to direct the police to arrest the accused because they were harassing his family.
