Protest against rising robberies

A protest was held and the traffic on motorway near Kot Abdul Malik interchange remained suspended against the growing incidents of robbery.
The protesters of Bhulay Androon village and adjoining areas protested against the highway robberies in which 6 unidentified robbers on resistance had shot Ahmad Ali, a resident of the area. when he was returning home by a bike.
The outlaws had stopped the victim and tried to rob him. On putting resistance, they had opened fire and shot him dead. Later, the area people staged a protest and demanded arrest of the killers.
The factory area police reached the spot and restored the traffic after assuring them that the outlaws would be arrested shortly.
In another incident, a medical representative sustained bullet injuries when 2 highway robbers on Muridke road intercepted him and snatched cash Rs80,000. On putting resistance, the criminals opened fire and injured Yousaf seriously.
Meanwhile, Housing Colony police arrested six people in village Bhitti Dhilwan. The police said during raid the arrested people could not proved their identity.
