Nation observes 80th death anniversary of Allama Iqbal

Nation observes 80th death anniversary of poet and philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal today on April 21.  

Allama Iqbal was born in Sialkot on November 18, 1877. He is one of the prominent poets of Urdu and Persian literature in Sub-continent. In 1930, Iqbal presented the idea of separate state for the Muslims of sub-continent. Therefore, after the establishment of Pakistan, he was made National poet of the country.

He penned down his concepts and ideas in a distinguished way and is known as Shair-e-Mashriq.  

His work and thoughts are still relevant in the society. Some of his best works comprise Asrar-e-Khudi, Payam-i-Mashriq, Bang-i-Dara, Bal-i-Jibril, Zarb-i Kalim and Armughan-e-Hijaz.

Moreover, Iqbal’s ideas were not limited to a specific time period or age, but, in fact, are aimed towards each and every generation.
