ISLAMABAD - Kohsar police Islamabad has arrested a couple who used to steal gold ornaments during its visits to jeweller shops in Jinnah Super Market, a police spokesman said. According to details, a couple portraying themselves as wedding couple came to Ghawas Jewellers in Jinnah Super Market the other day and asked the shopkeeper Ali to show them golden necklace. The shopkeeper showed them two golden necklace and they took away one of it. When the shopkeeper asked them to return jewellery, they gave him one necklace and started arguing that only one necklace had been given to them. The shopkeeper while smelling the rat called at Kohsar police station for immediate police help. SHO Kohsar police station Mehr Munawar along with Sub-Inspector Malik Muhammad Basheer and lady police rushed to the shop. And police party recovered the gold ornament from couple during the physical search. They were identified as Hina and Aurangzeb. Shopkeeper also told the police that this incident had occurred with him before. During the investigation, accused confessed their involvement also in earlier incident and police also recovered the gold ornaments from them. SP City Sajid Kiani also directed the SHO Kohsar police station and other police officials to curb the crime incidents especially dacoities in the area. Following these directions, special teams were constituted which arrested five persons identified as Abdul Malik, Idrees, Abdul Basit, Ramazan and Naveed for their alleged involvement in various dacoities in this area. Police also recovered three laptops and five mobile phones from their possession.
