In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have clamped curfew in Srinagar, Sopore, Islamabad and Bijbehara while imposing restrictions in other major towns to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations and sit-ins in the Kashmir Valley. According to Kashmir Media Service, hundreds of police and paramilitary CRPF troopers have been deployed across the Valley to prevent people from coming out of their homes. Police said that curfew would remain in force in Srinagar, Sopore, Islamabad and Bijbehara while restrictions would be in place in Baramulla, Handwara and Kupwara towns. Shops, businesses establishments, educational institutions, banks and post offices are closed due to the curfew. On the other hand, two police constables were injured when protesters attacked a police party at Sheikhpora in Budgam. Meanwhile, scores of people staged anti-India demonstrations at Bus Stand in Shopian while protesters were chased away by the policemen at Humhama.
