SINGAPORE (AFP) Britains world champion diver Tom Daley was cleared to compete in the inaugural Youth Olympics on Friday after recovering from a tricep injury. The 16-year-old, who was a shock winner of the mens 10m platform event at the world championships in Rome last year, pulled out of the European championships last weekend and his participation in Singapore was in doubt. Team GB diving athlete Tom Daley intends to compete in the Youth Olympic Games 3m springboard competition on Sunday, the British Olympic Association said in a statement. Daley, however, will not compete in the 10m platform competition, largely as a precaution as he continues to recover from a tricep injury suffered earlier this month during the European aquatics championships. Daley is one of the highest-profile competitors in Singapore, which features athletes aged 14 to 18.
