LAHORE - Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif on Friday summoned Umer Virk, SP CIA Organised Crime Cantt, for August 27 due to police failure in arresting the accused involved in the killings of six persons including Muhammad Nasir advocate. The CJ observed, It is the negligence of police that the case was registered on March 3, 2010 and more than five months have been lapsed but police are failed to arrest all the accused persons in the case. Muhammad Nasir advocate, his brothers and cousins were gunned down due to an old enmity in Ludhar village near Lahore when they were coming to Lahore High Court for hearing of a case. In Fridays proceedings, DSP of organised crime CIA Cantt Athar Farooq submitted that accused Shaukat Ali, sub inspector (SI) and six other accused persons have been arrested out of total 14 accused persons, who were nominated in FIR and the supplementary statement in the case of six persons murder. The DSP pleaded that police are making efforts to arrest the remaining seven accused persons. It is worth mentioning here that DSP Athar Farooq, on last hearing, had given a statement that accused SI Shaukat Ali was not being arrested because complainant party told him not to arrest him as they had made a compromise with him. But Abdul Hameed, deceased advocates brother, had said it was wrong and they had made no compromise and gave no such statement before the DSP. On Friday, complainant counsels Azeemullah advocate and Khawar Ikram advocate submitted that six persons have been murdered and five injured by the accused and due to this five women became widow and 27 children became orphans. The counsels said police officials were not taking interest in arresting the accused persons due to reasons best known to them. Further proceedings on the suo motu notice will resume on August 27.
