OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE In the name of providing state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to mothers and new born babies, management of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital has decided to refuse emergency gynaecology facilities from September 1, TheNation has learnt. Sir Ganga Ram Hospitals Gynaecology Units will extend facilities only to the women regularly visiting the hospital and have registration cards while it will not entertain those coming in emergency at the time of delivery. The management asserted that the decision has been taken to encourage regular check-up and provide better facilities to mothers and new born babies. Going one step forward, the Unit has stopped entertaining new patients in emergency over 10 days before the scheduled date, putting the poor who could not spend huge amount for delivery at private healthcare centres in troubled water.
