Former Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qazi Hussain Ahmed gave credit to Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini for reviving Palestinian cause. Imam Khomeini inaugurated Al-Quds day as an integral part of Ramadan so that Muslims would never forget their responsibility and duty towards Palestine and all oppressed people in the world. It is held each year on the last Friday of Ramadan. Qazi Hussain Ahmad hailed the efforts of Islamic Republic of Iran for holding conferences and seminars on Palestinian cause. Iran has always played a significant role in reviving the Palestinian issue, he said. Religious leader was of the view that support of Iran for oppressed Palestinian nation gives them great courage to fight against Israeli aggression. He added that Israel should vacate Jerusalem and give self-determination right to Palestinians. Qazi Hussian Ahmed told IRNA in an interview that Al-Quds Day is a nice tradition, which keeps the scattered Muslim Ummah united. He termed the day as the solution to the difficulties of Muslims of Palestine and makes them to expose the intrigues of Zionists. Former JI chief said that there is need to ignite the fervor and enthusiasm of Muslims and they should not compromise on their religious identity at any cost. Qazi Hussian Ahmed said if Muslims succeed to end control of Israel from Al-Quds the problems of Muslims would automatically be resolved. He called upon Muslims around the world to struggle collectively to get back the control of Al-Quds from Israel. Israel is the root cause of problems in Middle East, he believed. He urged Muslims around the world to observe International Day of Al-Quds to support the legitimate rights of Muslims of Palestine. Qazi Hussian Ahmed criticized the leadership of many Muslims countries saying that they are forwarding the western agenda. The OIC and Arab League have failed to revive the issue of Palestine, he opined. NNI
