PESHAWAR  - An election tribunal will announce judgment on August 27 next which it reserved in fake degree case of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Communication and Works Yousaf Ayub Khan on Tuesday.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Qazi Asad had filed a petition in the Election Tribunal Abbottabad, seeking disqualification of PTI MPA for acquiring bogus degree.

He asked the tribunal to disqualify the respondent by invoking provisions of articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. The controller of examination of the University of The Punjab and Higher Education Commission refused to validate the degree of Yousaf Ayub.  The controller of examination said that they university had no record of awarding degree on the said serial number to Yousaf Ayub. The election tribunal will announce its judgment on August 27 next in this regard. Yousaf Ayub is currenly KPK minister for C&W in the PTI led government in the province.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday abolished the basic membership of senior party member Samad Mursalin for violating party discipline and contesting election against party decision on NA-1-Peshawar-I as the PTI has awarded ticket to Gul Badsha.

 Upon the directives of the party central command, PTI Provincial General Secretary and Provincial Minister for Health Shaukat Yousafzai formally announced that the party basic membership of Samad Mursalin has been abolished for violating party decision of contesting election on NA-1 where the party has also fielded its own candidate.

In a statement issued from PTI media cell, Shaukat Yousafzai said that despite issuing a showcase notice to Samad Mursalin not to contest elections against party decision, however, he did not accept party decision and use party flag and name therefore his party membership was ended. He said that Samad Mursalin has violated party discipline just for not getting party ticket.
