Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that democracy exists where transparent, free and unbiased elections are held, while the Punjab government always becomes ‘Umpire’ by itself whenever ‘match’ is conducted.
He stated that evidence regarding rigging in May 11 general elections by the government departments and some returning officers would be brought in front of media on Wednesday.
As per details, while addressing a public meeting here in Pindi Bhattiyan in connection with by-polls in National Assembly constituency NA-103, Imran said that on May 11, people went to polling stations to vote for one party but votes went automatically in the favour of other party.
“August 22 will be the victory day for PTI and if the government departments, Election Commission, session judges and returning officers try to become hurdle in the way of transparent elections, then the PTI will protest in every city of the country against rigging. We will not allow to repeat the history of May 11 polls”, he warned.
Imran Khan said that the PTI had come into power in Khyber PakhtunKhaw (KPK) for the 1st time and very soon the difference between the performance and accountability system of the federal and KPK governments will be cleared to everyone, adding that the PTI will not allow corruption in the name of accountability.
The PTI chief directed every member of the party to fulfil their duty during by-polls on August 22. On the occasion, Pakistan Sunni Tehreek (PST) central leader Barristor Pir Syed Waseemul Haq Naqvi also announced joining PTI.
