ISLAMABAD - A local court Tuesday handed over 10-day-old infant to her mother whose husband had snatched the baby over some domestic dispute.

According to details, complainant Mariam, resident of Bari Imam, submitted an application before Additional District and Sessions Judge Rafaqat Awan for the custody of the infant. Mariam stated in her application that she left the house of her husband after some domestic dispute and came to her mother's home. She added that she gave birth to a baby on Eid day in hospital but her husband came and forcefully took away her baby.

On this, the court directed her husband to appear before the court along with the infant. On Tuesday, the grandmother of the baby appeared before the court and handed over the baby to the mother.

Meanwhile, the same court granted bail to a proclaimed offender after 16 years.

According to details, a bus hit a car after violating traffic signal in 1997. As a result, a man Imran sustained injuries and police arrested bus driver after registering case against him. Later, he was acquitted but the owner of the bus was declared as proclaimed offender since he failed to appear before the court. Knowing about his court abscondence after 16 years, the bus owner Javed Kiyani filed an application seeking bail before arrest. The learned judge accepted his bail before arrest plea after hearing the arguments of his counsel.
