LAHORE - The National School of Public Policy (NSPP) and Evidence for Policy Design (EPoD) at the Center for International Development at Harvard University, and the Center for Economic Research in Pakistan (CERP) have agreed to collaborate to further evidence-based policy-making in Pakistan as part of the “Towards a Culture of Evidence: Building Capacity for Evidence-based Policy” programME.

This collaboration is centrally aimed at training civil servants to use evidence and research as the foundation for policy making with the ultimate goal of improving policy effectiveness in Pakistan. The collaboration will facilitate continuous interfacing between civil servants, EPoD at the Center for International Development at Harvard University, and CERP; and will organize policy dialogues aimed at strengthening and reforming the civil service. The collaboration will also see civil servants piloting policy research projects that will result in the formulation of robust, evidence driven policy solutions.

The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed on 21st August, 2013 by the Rector, NSPP Muhammad Ismail Qureshi, Director/Professor, Evidence for Policy Design, Harvard University, Dr Asim Ijaz Khwaja and Director, Centre for Economic Research in Pakistan, Dr Ali Cheema. Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform and Vice-Chairman, Board of Governors of NSPP Ahsan Iqbal will be the Chief Guest on the occasion. PRESS rELEASE
