ISLAMABAD - Subh-e-Nau chairperson Shahida Kauser Farooq Tuesday said her NGO and the PTF would hopefully collaborate in the near future.
Talking to The Nation, Shahida said: “The sudden resolution between the two parties have come after my meeting with PTF president Kaleem Imam and he stated the past should be forgotten and all the matters should be directly communicated to him or office manager Shahzad Akhter Alvi. I have requested that this understanding should be communicated in writing to the SN at the earliest.”
It is pertinent to mention here that Shahida had earlier called on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada to look into PTF's incessant harassment towards the SN. She had also approached PTF patron Senator Syed Dilawar Abbas in this regard, who had seconded the SN's position as an independent and private corporate body.  Shahida stated: “There is a lot of work ahead of us in sports and we hope that sharing this passion and under Kaleem's leadership, the PTF will play a facilitator role.”
She termed the PTF secretary's remarks against Aisamul Haq Qureshi as unfortunate. “Aisam is Pakistan's pride but unfortunately, unsubstantiated allegations with inappropriate language have become the norm of the secretary. The SN too has been the victim of such language, but we have stood our ground. The PTF chief’s action against secretary seemed justified in view of how things transpired during the meeting,” she concluded.
