Miandad supports Imran's struggle

LAHORE - Former cricketer Javed Miandad has said that in order to reform the system, he supports Imran Khan who is the only leader who can pull the country out of the crisis.
He said that Imran has struggled for 18 years and is an educated, honest leader who understands the political systems of different countries. We know each other for 40 years, he said.
I support long march because this is at the command of my conscience rather than my friendship with him, he added.
Javed said that he has no intention to join politics despite offers and is only supporting Imran Khan.
Former cricketer said that it must be understood why things had come to such a srage even though the country had one of the best Armed Forces around world.
I think that the Azadi march is legitimate as it has women, children and elderly as participants, who are there on the streets to fight for their rights, he said.
He also questioned as to which kind of democracy it was where people had to come to the roads to assert for their fundamental rights? He urged the political leaders to follow the example of democratic countries.
