The installation of more dams and reservoirs would be of no use unless we change the way we change the way we consume and dispose water.

We need to rid ourselves of old practices which are responsible for water shortages. Industries and corporations must move to pollution control, micro irrigation and recycling of water on bigger scales.

The situation can only be brought under control if the citizens and the government cooperate with one another. At a domestic level, citizens should ensure that water is used with great care. The government must devise rules under which water consumption must take place. Factories should be fined for disposing waste materials in water sources.
