LAHORE - Former Punjab chief minister and PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif Monday appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in corruption investigation over Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme, Punjab Power Development Company (PPDC) and Punjab Saaf Paani Company.
Shehbaz, complying with the NAB order, appeared before the anti-graft body and faced the investigators for almost two hours at the NAB office at Thokar Niaz Baig, the sources said.
They said the NAB authorities could summon Shehbaz again for further investigation about three references.
Fawad Hassan Fawad, former implementation secretary of the Punjab CM, is already in the NAB custody while Ahad Cheema is on judicial remand. Shehbaz was previously summoned by the NAB over information/evidence regarding the illegal appointment of Syed Farukh Ali Shah as a member in National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) and chief executive officer of the PPDC. The NAB had summoned Shehbaz for the third time about PPDC investigation.
