A culprit who assaulted a woman traveling in a rickshaw near Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day in Lahore has been identified, police confirmed on Saturday.
After the undated video went viral on social media, the police took action and immediately identified the accused. The police also claimed to identify the accused's companion who captured the video of the incident.
The law enforcement agencies also said that efforts are underway to arrest the accused.
Earlier in the day, Police have registered a case against 10 to 12 motorcyclists for harassing, molesting a girl sitting in a rickshaw at Lari Ada police station.
A case was registered against 10 to 12 motorcyclists. The identification of the harassers is underway and Police have obtained a record of safe city cameras installed in the vicinity of the park.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar ordered the immediate arrest of the harasser who harassed and committed the immoral act with a girl sitting in the rickshaw and demanded a report from IG Punjab.
