ISLAMABAD (APP) A weeklong international group exhibition of paintings by 10 artists from Bangladesh will conclude here on December 21 at Nomad Art Gallery. The show captures diverse collection of works, ideas, techniques and mediums by the participating artists include Md Mahabubul Islam Baabu, Syed Mohammed Shamim, Md Zahir Hossain Newton, Md Rezaun Nabi, Mohammed Fakhruzzaman, Anisuzzaman Anis, Md Abdul Aziz, Rajaul Islam, Shahin Akhter Lipi and Fehmida Khatun. The artists focussed on symbolism, abstract themes using imagery of women, crows, pigeons, motifs and other signs to explain their innovative ideas with diverse mediums, said Nageen Hyat Curator of gallery. The exhibition offers a unique collection in which every piece depicts a different theme and medium amalgamated with presence of symbolic signs in powerful expressions, she stated. Rajaul Islam displays the masterly techniques in wood cut while Shahin Akhter shows history capturing abstract architectural images. Z H Newtons symbolic and local themes reflect his life in a sensitive way whereas Adbul Aziz gives bluish tones to his thematic work using the medium of watercolours with a strong drawing of women. Fakhruzzaman displayed two collagraphs with black and white tones, Rezaun Nabi works with acrylic and water colour on canvas, Anisuzzaman exhibited wood cuts while others worked with mixed media, knife work and water colours. All of these artists displayed their works at home and abroad in various group and solo exhibitions with a distinct identity of their expressions.
