LAHORE – Danish Aziz (55*) and Widwan Ullah (5/25) helped Karachi to 6 wickets victory over Faisalabad in a Group B match of the Under-16 PCB-Pepsi Cricket Stars One-day Tournament here at the Lahore City Cricket Association ground on Tuesday.
Put into bat first, Faisalabad were bowled out for 137 in 43.3 overs. Asim (39), Atiq (35) and Sultan (20) were the notable scorers. Widwan Ullah was pick of the bowlers who chipped in with 5/25 while Danish Aziz (2/18) also bowled well
In reply Karachi achieved the target in 30.3 overs. Thanks to all-round performance of Danish Aziz who played a superb knock of 55 not out and took two wickets for 18 runs helped his side to achieve comfortable victory. Saad Alam 44 not out also played well. Irfan Dilshad and Khalid Younas supervised the match while M Arif Senior was the official scores.
Multan beat Sialkot:
In another match played at the Ittefaq Cricket Ground, Lahore, Multan defeated Sialkot by 70 runs. Batting first Multan piled up 264 for the loss of 9 wickets in 45 overs. Awais made 64, Imran Rafiq cracked 55 and Ahmer collected 32 made good contributions. from Quetta. Akram Butt 2/29, Irfa 2/61 bowled well from Sialkot.
In reply Sialkot were crashed out for 194 in 37.3 overs. Aaqib Junaid (41), Umer Javed (38) Rehmat Ali (38) played well. Hassan Mushtaq took 3/30, while Junaid Zawar got 2.36 and Imran Rafiq took 2/40.
M Basit and Sagheer Ahmed supervised the match while Abdul Hameed was the official scorers.
Quetta beat Hyderabad:
In another match played at the Model Town Greens ground, Quetta defeated Hyderabad by 88 runs in Pool B match on Tuesday.
Mukhtar Ahmad destroyed Hyderabad batting line-up to help Quetta to score 88 runs victory. Hyderabad needed 149 runs for victory were bundled out for just 60 runs in 29.3 runs. Hamesh Kumar was the only batsman who could reach the double figure with 21.
Earlier batting first, Quetta scored 148 all out in 42.1 overs. Haider 59, Sagheer 32 were the notable contributors. Abdul Hameed (3/29), Ubaid Ullah (2/28) and Sheran Malik (2/18) bowled well. M Kaleem and Raja Shahid while Zahoor Alam was the official scorer.
