LAHORE – The Lahore High Court Registrar Office on Tuesday fixed an objection on a constitutional petition, seeking direction to restrain President Asif Ali Zardari from holding his office allegedly for violating of the Constitution.

Registrar’s office has put an objection on the petition that the matter relates to Islamabad therefore Islamabad High Court is the proper forum to agitate the issue.

Petitioner Hafiz Muhammad Asim had sought interpretation of Article 47 of the Constitution after a recent statement of the President wherein he said “If Article 47 is invoked, he would not accept the Constitution.” Petitioner termed the statement a high reason within the meaning of Article 6 of the Constitution.
