ISLAMABAD (APP) – Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday directed the Ministry of Finance to work on the stability of cotton prices in the country.

In a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Cotton Ginners

Association (PCGA) led by Chairman Aman Ullah Qureshi, the Prime Minister asked the ministry to resolve the issue at the level of Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in consultation with other stakeholders.

In a meeting held at the PM House, the ginners apprised the Prime Minister about the problems being faced by cotton growers across the country in general and of Southern Punjab in particular.  The ginners pointed that the mill owners were using delaying tactics to procure cotton to the disadvantage of both ginners and  growers.
