Rawalpindi-Chairman Metro Bus Project and ex-MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said terrorism, energy crises and poverty are the three greatest problems faced by the country.

He said the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif is struggling hard to resolve the three core issues besides bringing change in the lives of common people.

“N-league believes in politics of service, respect and betterment instead of bashing other political parties,” he said.

Hanif Abbasi expressed these views while addressing a laptop distribution ceremony for the students under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) here on Tuesday. 

On the occasion, PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Rai Niaz Ahmed, deans, directors, faculty members and students were also present.

As many as 1900 talented students, who were selected on merit from various disciplines/ departments of PMAS-AAUR, were given laptops by the chief guest and VC.

Hanif Abbasi said youth can play key role to build a nation and laptop scheme is to facilitate the students to get benefit of information technology so that they can prepare themselves for confronting the challenges of upcoming era. 

He said that present government under the leadership of PM and CM has launched many projects to empower the youth for bright future of Pakistan.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is one of the biggest examples of it, he added. He said that government is working hard to provide opportunities to the talented but needy students to fulfil their dreams and aspirations and become partner in the development and welfare of country.

He urged the students to concentrate on their studies so that they could lead the nation. He lauded the efforts of VC Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad for bringing up the university at par with the international standards and also admired the role of university in development of agriculture, livestock and the relevant zones. While distributing the laptops, he congratulated the students for receiving laptops which would enable them to compete with the world.

Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad, in his address, spoke about the academic, research, extension, training programs as well as the accomplished projects of the University.

He also showed gratitude towards the prime minister and government of Pakistan for providing laptops to the students of the varsity, which would leave a positive impact on the educational and practical life of students.

He also hoped that such kind of project would continue in future as well.

VC said varsity is making efforts to provide the quality of education to youth to get the massive share of participation in the main streamline of productive mechanism.

He stressed upon the students to utilize all their energies for acquiring knowledge and adopt reading habits as it is a key to success.
