Gains will be made irreversible: Lt-Gen Shahid

KARACHI - Newly-appointed Karachi Corps Commander Lt-Gen Shahid Baig Mirza has said that gains made by security forces in the Karachi operation will be made irreversible with the support of people of the city.

He said that Karachiites’ confidence in law enforcement agencies reflected performance of the Rangers in Karachi. He was addressing the Rangers personnel during his first visit to the Rangers Headquarters in the Sindh capital on Tuesday after taking charge as commander of the Karachi Corps of the Pakistan Army.  On his arrival at the Rangers Headquarters, Lt-Gen Mirza was greeted by Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Director General Major General Muhammad Saeed. The two commanders discussed the ongoing Karachi operation and the overall security situation in the metropolis. They vowed to expedite the Karachi operation.

Addressing the Rangers personnel, the corps commander said that peace in Karachi was the result of the sacrifices rendered by the Rangers and local people.
