islamabad - The interior ministry has constituted first-ever Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Market Committee to manage the affairs of fruits and vegetables market.

The notification in this regard came on December 8, 2016 in exercise of powers conferred by sub-sections (I) and (II) and clause (A) of sub-section (III) of section 8 of the Islamabad Capital Territory Agricultural Produce Markets Ordinance, 2002.

Sources in the interior ministry said that the market committee members would now elect chairman of the committee within next few weeks. Government had appointed an administrator to run the market committee affairs on ad-hoc basis and now the newly-appointed committee would look after the affairs of the market.
