It is good to note that the visiting British investors delegation headed by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan is keen to make investment in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

This quite vocal expression of interest was shown when Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and other British investors accompanying him called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif soon after crossing on foot into Pakistan via Wagah border from India.

According to the reports in the newspapers, the chief minister while talking to the delegation said that great game changer CP$C has opened new avenues of foreign investment in Pakistan and the British investors to draw full benefits of the golden opportunity and make as much huge investment as they wished in the CPEC projects number of which are under implementation in Punjab as elsewhere in different parts of the country and assured his government will jointly work with the British investors in different sectors.

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan expressed the wish to enhance cooperation and investment in sectors with Lahore saying that economic future of Pakistan is very bright adding that he is here to let the South Asian economies know that London is open, the purpose of his visit is to promote trade with three large cities each of Pakistan and India as even after Britain’s decision to leave European Union (EU) , London will remain an important trading and financial centre. This keenness should be explored at the appropriate level and the Mayor of London and members of the investors delegations duly updated particularly about the CPEC projects besides other initiatives taken for the welfare and welfare of the people by the provincial government during last and half years.
