HAFIZABAD-As rise in the incidents of swindling, robbery and dacoity has created the sense of insecurity, the people called upon the police to take stringent measures to prevent crimes.
According to a renowned religious scholars and Khateeb Jamia Masjid Kousar Raja Chowk, Qari Muhaamd Yousaf, two women intruded into his house in Mohallah Dhabwala and allegedly made off with 18 tola gold ornaments and cash worth Rs1.1 million. The victim has reported the incident to the police which failed to trace the accused.
Similarly, three armed bandits intercepted Farasat Ali who was on way to his village Qila Ram Kour along with his wife on a bike. When they reached near Head Sagar, three criminals intercepted him and snatched away cash and gold ornaments worth thousands of rupees.
Likewise, a vendor-cum-rickshaw driver Mustansar Ali was intercepted near Nahrianwala by two armed bandits and snatched away biscuits, toffees and other sweets worth Rs. 20,000. The police have registered cases but failed to arrest any of the accused.
COP DEAD IN ACCIDENT: A police constable of Pindi Bhattian Saddar police station was killed in a road mishap near Pindi Bhattian interchange.
According to police source, deceased Haq Nawaz was on way to Pindi Bhattian on his bike and when reached near interchange, a speeding van hit his bike, resulting in fetal injuries to him. He was rushed to the THQ Hospital Pindi Bhattian where he breathed his last.
Police have registered a case against the van driver who fled away after the mishap.
