Mardan - Awami National Party candidate Himayatullah Mayar was elected mayor of Mardan tehsil and Jamait Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl won chairmanship of three tehsils of Mardan district.
According to unofficial results, a total of 197,877 votes were polled while 16097 were rejected. Himayat Mayar of ANP secured 56,458 votes and elected Mayor of Mardan district while JUI-F candidate Maulana Amant Shah received 49,938 votes and PTI candidate Lakhkar Khan was third with 30,383 votes.
In tehsil Garhi Kapura, ANP candidate Bakhtawar Khan secured 20,244 votes and elected Chairman while Malak Ayaz of JUI-F secured position with 17,399 votes and PTI candidate Shah Faisal obtained 14,000 votes.
In tehsil Takhatbhai JUI-F candidate Maulana Saeed was elected chairman securing 45,881 votes while PML-N’s Mumtaz Ali secured 33,713 votes and PTI candidate Khawar Khan Mohmand got 21,327 votes.
In tehsil Katlang JUI-F candidate Hamadullah Yousafzai received 30,474 votes and was elected chairman while ANP’s Fazal Rehaman with 18,186 votes remained second and PTI candidate Zarshad Khan got 16,103 votes.
In tehsil Rustam, Mubarik Ahmed of JUI-F was elected chairman securing 16,887 while PTI candidate Muzatar Shah got 12,482 and PPP’s Ayub Khan received 11,619 votes. According to the results, 39 percent votes were polled in tehsil Mardan, 38 percent in tehsil Rustam, 42.23 in tehsil Takhatbhai, 40.60 percent in Garhi Kapira 40 and in tehsil Katlang 43.03 votes were polled.
