AMRITSAR (Agencies) - Three members of the crew of a goods train from Pakistan including the engine driver, his assistant and the guard were detained at the Attari railway station near here for allegedly trying to smuggle 30kg of poppy seed into India. Engine driver M Ali, assistant driver Rana Zulfikar and guard Hamir Mushtaq were detained when Indian authorities recovered 30kg of poppy seed, also called Khas-Khas, from the train after a thorough search. The goods train, which was scheduled to return to Pakistan in the evening, has also been held up, they said, adding that the Indian Home Ministry has been informed of the incident.
