KARACHI - To expand export base and create linkage with other countries in the region, especially with Central Asian Republics CARs, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan TDAP is organising a Trade Caravan from Pakistan to display Pakistani products of interest in selected cities en-route in June 2009. This was discussed in meeting based on MoU signed by Syed Mohibullah Shah, Chief Executive, TDAP and Arthur Bayham, CEO of Competitive Support Fund CSF. The major display of Pakistani mangoes will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, which will be linked with Export Trade Caravan for major display of other potential products from Pakistan in Almaty. Seminars, workshops will be held at Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to create awareness to develop export potential to Central Asian countries. Awareness programme will be undertaken in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to promote Pakistani exportable items in CARs. To facilitate and promote this objective, TDAP will also establish an office in Gilgit and request Government to start PIA flights to major cities in CARs.
