Govt to implement CoD: Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said the country cannot afford mid-term elections in the present situation, report said. Addressing a seminar in Lahore, Gilani said terrorism remains the biggest challenge that Pakistan is confronted with. He further said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) respects the mandate given to other parties by the people of Pakistan. Gilani said difference of opinion is the beauty of democracy but it should be guided by logic and have some limitations. He said the people should let democracy continue in the country. The prime minister said the government is committed to implement the Charter of Democracy (CoD) and will carry out the required constitutional amendments to revive the 1973 constitution in its true spirit.
