LAHORE The Super Six of the PFF Youth U-14 Cup will explode into action today (Sunday), when Karachi Red will take on Quetta Green at Korangi Baloch Stadium, Sharafi Goth, Karachi (1pm). The stadia will host three matches and same number of matches will be played at Company Bagh, Sargodha from February 21 to 24. The PFF launched the event under the directive of President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat in July 2007 to analyze the movement and commitment of youth football coaches working under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) AID-27 Financial Assistance Scheme. The event was started on February 2 and successful football coaches were Nasir Ismail, Muhammad Karim, Bilal Butt, Shahzad Anwar, Aslam Khan and Noman Ibrahim whose outfits entered the Super Six. Top-four teams of the PFF Youth U-14 Cup will earn berth in the 12th National U-14 Festival of Football from February 27 to March 11, 2010 at Islamabad after Super Six event where other teams besides Peshawar Yellow, will be Sargodha, Sahiwal, Lahore Green, Quetta Green and Karachi Red. The players born on or after January 1, 1996 will be eligible in both the events. Karachi B won the first edition - limited for U-18 players - at Karachis Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi Goth (Landhi Town) on August 14, 2007, followed by triumph of Karachi Yellow that lifted PFF U-14 Youth Cup on December 18, 2007 at Football Ground, Chak No 68/JBs ground in Jinnah Town, Faisalabad near Thana Thikiriwala. All the four semi-finalists of said events had also booked their berth for ensuring National tourneys at Lahores Model Town Football Academy Ground and Sahiwals Rai Ali Nawaz Stadium respectively. There was no clear cut winner in PFF U-13 Youth Cup 2009 with Dir, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Karachi Red booking place in National Tourneys by winning their groups. However, Sahiwal was accepted as the best among them as they went on to win 11th National U-13 Festival of Football at Model Town Football Academy (MTFA) Ground on February 6, 2009. Later on, PFF U-16 Youth Cup saw Faisalabad White as the best among the top four of the event as they clinched 7th National U-16 Championship at Punjab Stadium by beating Karachi Yellow 1-0 on July 27, 2009. Peshawar Blue and Sargodha were also among top four in PFF Youth Cup.
