LAHORE PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that his party would continue to make serious efforts for the retrieval of looted national wealth stashed in the Swiss banks. He said survival and stability of the country lies in return of the public money from Swiss banks. PML-N would go on making efforts for the return of the money as well as to strengthen and stabilise democracy and the institutions of the state and uphold supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law, he added. Nawaz expressed these views while talking to PML-N Balochistan leader General (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch, MNA, who called on him at his Raiwind residence on Saturday. Talking to Qadir Baloch, Nawaz demanded setting up of a judicial commission for probing the military operation in Balochistan and delegating the authority to maintain peace and order in the province to the police. He also sought relief for the affected families of Balochistan and revival of the Marri Bugti tribes without any delay. All this must be done to address the Balochistan problem, he added. Nawaz said PML-N would not be at ease until the people who had killed Nawab Akbar Bugti, flouted the Constitution and practised corruption were taken to the task. He said the government was fast losing public confidence due to its involvement in corruption and scandals while the double standards and inaction on its part had caused irreparable loss to the prestige of the country. He said the federal government had absolutely failed in addressing the Balochistan issue and the problems therein as well as in reviving the economy. He said PML-N strongly believed that the government was not serious, sincere and single-minded about establishing supremacy of the Parliament, revival of the Constitution as it had been on October 12, 1999, on the implementation of Charter of Democracy, elimination of corruption, freedom of the Press and to address the problems like price-hike and others. He asked the government to rearrange its priorities with an aim to addressing those issues and problems, which were irking the whole nation. He reminded that the way his party forced the government to retreat on National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), Kerry Lugar Act, judiciary and loans issues adopting a principled stand, it will continue to make efforts for the supremacy of the Constitution and the rule of law.
