LAHORE - Punjab Finance Minister Tanveer Ashraf Kaira Saturday inaugurated paintings exhibition of senior and young artists from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad at Revivers Galleria in Gulberg. The exhibition titles Expressions will remain open for the art lovers till March 05. As many as 17 senior and young artists whose selected works in the form of abstract calligraphy, figurative and landscapes are being displayed in the exhibition include Ahmad Khan, Abrar Ahmad, Amaad Samdani, Anila Zulfiqar, Babar Azeemi, Bin Qallandar, MA Bokhari, Muhammad Arshad, M H Sulehri, Mughees Riaz, Mussarat Arif, Noman Ghauri, Najia Azmat, Raja Najamul Hassan, SA Noory, Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi and Zarah David Zarah. Advisor to Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Mian Shafqat Ali, LCCI President Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, former LCCI President Mian Anjum Nisar were the prominent among other visitors belonging to all walks of life. Speaking on the occasion, Punjab Finance Minister Tanveer Ashraf Kaira said that art exhibitions and cultural shows are a must to highlight the soft image of the country and all the segments of the society should take part in such activities for the sake of Pakistan and its people. He said that such activities are a source of encouragement for the business doing people who are facing multiple internal and external challenges and especially at this point in time when the enemies of the country are painting a very wrong picture. The LCCI President Zafar Iqbal Chudhry, while appreciating the work of senior and young artists, said that exhibitions always send a very positive signal abroad and the society as whole should not only encourage such activities but also ensure their participation. Saira Anjum, owner of the Revivers Galleria and an artist herself, said that more than 50 paintings done in different mediums had been put on display. She said the group show Expressions was the 7th show organised at the galleria had just completed one year of its existence on a note of success. She said that during the first year, the gallery had organised five group shows and one solo show. Saira Anjum added with a sense of satisfaction and confidence that no other art gallery in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad or elsewhere could claim to have made so much achievement in such little time. Saira Anjum said the hard work and determination was the key to success and she was determined to continue working hard.
