Twenty posts of the principals and 675 of teachers have been lying vacant in 98 government colleges across Gujranwala Division for a long period due to which, the administrative and academic activities are badly affected.

According to the senior officials of Education Department, the twenty colleges are being run without principals. The officials revealed that the posts of 45 male and 104 female teachers were lying vacant in Gujranwala district, 60 male and 74 female seats at Sialkot district and 75 male and 74 female posts at different government colleges in Gujrat district.

Owing to the critical situation, the students are suffering great problems in this regard. The students and their parents expressed grave concern over the situation and urged Punjab Chief Shahbaz Sharif and Commissioner Gujranwala Shamail Ahmed to look into the matter.
