LAHORE - China is all set for new investment proposals, as a delegation under the umbrella of China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is visiting Pakistan from March 3 to 5, 2014.

This was disclosed by the Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers & Exporters Association central chairman Akhtar Nazir Khan Cooki, who visited China recently and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with CCPIT in Qinghai.  “According to the MoU, both the organizations will help promote each other and organize business visits for mutual benefits. Following this development the CCPIT has decided to send a delegation of 20 members to Pakistan.

It has also shown keen interest to meet and develop relations with companies dealing the product range of Garments & Textile, Halal Food & Meat, Starch Products, Leather Goods, Pharmaceuticals, Herbal Pharma, General Trading and Mining,” stated Mr. Cooki.

He stated that the visiting Chinese delegation would also explore opportunities of joint ventures for encouraging economic activities between the two nations, besides inking a Memorandum of Understanding with them. To enable Pakistan to tap the emerging handmade carpet market in China, the team will offer research and development assistance to the producers of handmade carpet in Pakistan. He said that Qinghai province has already launched a Business Development Centre in provincial capital in an effort to take trade relations to a new height by aggressively exploring opportunities for joint ventures in various sectors.  The centre is already connecting thousands of Pakistani entrepreneurs with leading Chinese entrepreneurs and investors to exchange experiences and discuss business trends, leading to ultimate investment in both countries.
