Spadework for iron ore project feasibility done

Punjab Minister for Mines and Mineral Chaudhry Sher Ali has stated that the feasibility study of iron ore project in Chiniot will be completed one and half years.
Addressing a press conference here at Rest House along with MPA Maulana Ilyas Chinioti, he declared that Chiniot was rich in mineral resources and its rock and sand had been in use in many parts of the country. He said that nature had bestowed precious iron ore resources on Chiniot and the Punjab government was keen utilize theses resources for national development. “The Punjab Minerals Department has sought tenders from international organizations to conduct feasibility study of the resources,” he informed, adding that 12 international firms belonging to America, China, Germany and Canada had submitted their bids out of which seven had been shortlisted. “After awarding of contract, the company will conduct detailed feasibility report within one and half years after which these resources will be utilized,” he added.
To a question, the minister said that crushing in mountains at Chenab Nigar was stopped after ancient remains were discovered from these mountains. He also told that Chiniot district complex would be built after the budget for next fiscal year. He also announced Chiniot-Faisalabad dual carriageway and metro bus service from Chiniot to Faisalabad.
